National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Improves Asset Management with ARCHIBUS

Reliance on advanced technology is a hallmark of NOAA’s facilities managers, who recently embarked on a multiyear ARCHIBUS implementation to improve asset management of the agency’s sprawling real estate holdings.

That implementation, which includes a variety of ARCHIBUS Web-based applications and mobile apps, was designed to replace multiple legacy applications with a single enterprise asset management system.

The new system addresses the needs of NOAA’s four regional centers in Silver Spring, Maryland; Seattle, Washington; Washington, DC; and Honolulu, Hawaii. These centers’ facilities totaled 17 buildings, comprising 2.25 million square feet of space, 5,000 occupants, and over 100,000 system furniture assets. Read more.

Ralph Linne, Hamilton County, Ohio, Director of County Facilities, Named 2016 Facility Executive of the Year

Ralph Linne, Hamilton County, Ohio’s Director of County Facilities, has been named Facility Executive of the Year by Facility Executive magazine.

Mr. Linne, a long-time ARCHIBUS user, was cited for his cost-containment successes through a range of initiatives that are improving the operational efficiency of the county’s leased and owned facilities.

Among those initiatives is a three-phase energy performance contract that was completed in June of 2015. The energy conservation project included the use of performance contracting on 15 major buildings, under the jurisdiction of the facilities department, which resulted in major reductions in energy and water use with equally impressive cost savings.

New!  ARCHIBUS Advanced Portfolio Forecasting: How to Simplify Portfolio Planning and Forecasting

ARCHIBUS Enterprise Asset Management provides (enterprise resource planning) ERP-scale integration of strategic real estate planning, capital planning, portfolio project management, finance, and operations to align all assets with an organization’s objectives.

Real estate and portfolio planning professionals find it challenging to simplify the complex portfolio planning process, analyze proposed plans, and coordinate the intensive multidimensional review of those plans by stakeholders and senior leadership.

New ARCHIBUS Advanced Portfolio Forecasting provides the capabilities needed for assessing baseline conditions, forecasting need, proposing alternative planning scenarios, and evaluating complex tradeoffs over the short-, medium-, and long-term portfolio planning periods.

These tools are especially critical for enterprise-scale initiatives that include expanding or reducing lines of business, and other activities that have enterprise-wide financial ramifications from a portfolio perspective.  Read more.
