ARCHIBUS Nexus 2014 Convenes Real Estate and Facilities Management Innovators from around the World

May 1-7 Event in Fort Lauderdale Explored Mobile Solutions, Asset Management, Sustainability, and More

From risk management to mobile solutions to ERP integration and more, the ARCHIBUS Nexus 2014 — held May 1-7 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida — offered an enriched program of management presentations, technical training components, and expanded networking opportunities for an international cross-section of Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Facilities Management professionals.

ARCHIBUS Nexus focuses on three core initiatives: international community, shared experience, and continuing education, and it is comprised of three unique events: ARCHIBUS Connect for the Federated Eco-System, ARCHIBUS Conference for Best Practices, and ARCHIBUS University for Technical Excellence.

The range of educational offerings demonstrated the significant value-add of the advanced IWMS platform offered by ARCHIBUS, Inc., the #1 software solution worldwide for real estate, infrastructure and facilities management.

The heavily attended event offered insights into key concerns of the profession as revealed in remarkable presentations, by:

  • Eni Servizi: As the service arm of Italian energy giant Eni, EniServizi has implemented their Site Compliance Project to monitor all contract-related asset information, documents and certifications via a real-time compliance dashboard. The Site Compliance Model also manages assets using mobile technology and NFC tags, monitors energy and much more.

  • Turk Telekom: Turkey's leading telecommunications company delivered details of its TEYSIS Project, a large-scale ARCHIBUS implementation to centrally manage the organization's extensive holdings, aided by a multi-national collaborative effort by U.S. and European ARCHIBUS Business Partners.

  • Thomson Reuters: Having completed a global rollout of Web Central Space and Move Management, the financial information giant described how their enterprise-wide ARCHIBUS technology initiative supports their objectives to significantly improve workplace services through more efficient space, building and move management with innovative alternative workplace initiatives.

  • University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB): With its Galveston facilities facing the Gulf of Mexico, hurricanes and flooding prompted UTMB to develop sustainability practices with ARCHIBUS emergency preparedness practices.

  • City of Kansas City: The City of Kansas City's Facility Services division used ARCHIBUS and their reporting capabilities to create a new business plan that supports the mission of the organization using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure, monitor, and verify the division's performance and effectiveness and improve decision-making.

  • Sellafield Ltd.: Great Britain's government property management contractor overseeing its nuclear plant decommissioning explained how it stopped fighting FM fires and developed sustainable, predictable, value-added management practices.

Intensive sessions on business transformation tactics and deployment strategies were also featured events led by the University of Massachusetts Medical School's Scott Shader and ARCHIBUS business transformation expert Ian Gelling.

ARCHIBUS Users' Group News
Happy 4th Birthday/Anniversary to the ARCHIBUS Swiss Users' Group!

The ARCHIBUS Users' Group Suisse Romande recently marked their 4th Birthday/Anniversary during a meeting hosted by the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) in Lausanne, Switzerland. During the meeting, participants shared information about the implementation of ARCHIBUS at BCV, as well as a discussion on KPIs and the latest features of V.21.2 — before enjoying a drink on the terrace overlooking the city and Lake Geneva.

Led by Yves Streuli, Manager GS Real Property at Philip Morris International, and supported by Aremis Director Patrice Jaquier and his team, the group first met on May 25, 2010 at Alpiq, a key energy player in Switzerland and Europe and an ARCHIBUS user. Since then, regular meetings in the Lausanne and Geneva areas have been hosted by users IATA, Philip Morris, SITA, EPFL, UEFA, and BCV. Alpiq, SITA and UEFA have received Meeting Place of the Year awards, respectively, in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Whereas, the AUG Suisse Romande received an Educational Award of Excellence in 2013 for its continued dedication to enriching the user experience in the region.

Congratulations to all! We are looking forward to another inspiring meeting next fall 2014 in the Geneva area.
